Announcing September 2024 Fine & Performing Arts Events at PVCC

Join us in PVCC’s Center for the Performing Arts for an exciting series of fine and performing arts events, art exhibits, concerts, films and performances.

Alexis Fritz was an alumna of PVCC, having earned her Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts in 2021, where she first discovered her passion for working with clay. She continued her studies at Arizona State University, earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics in 2023. In February 2024, Fritz returned to PVCC as a guest artist, sharing her innovative approach to using artificial intelligence (AI) in art. She captivated audiences with her process of using Midjourney to generate images based on her underwater photography, which inspired her ceramic sculptures.

Fritz’s contributions to the PVCC community and the art world will be remembered fondly, as she left a lasting impact through her creativity and kindness.

A Play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett
Based upon "Anne Frank: the Diary of a Young Girl" newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman
Directed by Gary Zaro

Synopsis: In this transcendently powerful adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl, who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with astonishing honesty, wit, and determination. An impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic, The Diary Of Anne Frank captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence—their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. Each day of these two dark years, Anne's voice shines through: "When I write I shake off all my cares. But I want to achieve more than that. I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all people, even those I've never met. I want to go on living even after my death!" This is a new adaptation for a new generation.
